Request Data Deletion

You can request deletion of the personal data SnapSpend holds about you at any time. SnapSpend stores data under your account, so deleting your account removes all associated personal data. You can also email us if you want a specific subset of your data deleted without closing your account.
Delete Your Data from Inside the App
- Open SnapSpend and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.
Deleting your account from the app removes your profile and all data stored with SnapSpend (see "What We Delete" below). See also our Account Deletion page for the same instructions in more detail.
Request Data Deletion by Email
If you cannot access the app, or you want to request deletion of specific data without closing your account, email us from the address linked to your SnapSpend account:
Use the subject "SnapSpend data deletion request" and include the email address used for your SnapSpend account and a brief description of what you would like deleted (for example, "all my data", "receipts only", or "a specific receipt"). We may ask for additional information to verify that you own the account before processing the request.
What We Delete
A full data deletion removes or anonymizes the data associated with your account, including:
- Your SnapSpend profile and account record.
- Your receipts, receipt images, extracted expense data, categories, tags, and analytics data stored by SnapSpend.
- Your Family Plan membership data stored by SnapSpend, where applicable.
- Device tokens used to send notifications, and any cached settings tied to your account.
What May Not Be Deleted Immediately
Some information may be retained for a limited period if required for security, fraud prevention, legal, tax, payment, or dispute-resolution reasons. Subscription and purchase records are managed by the payment provider used for purchase (such as Apple App Store, Google Play, or web billing provider). Backups stored in your own Google Drive or OneDrive account need to be deleted by you from that provider.
Processing Time
In-app deletion starts immediately. Email deletion requests are reviewed and processed within a reasonable period, typically within 30 days after we verify account ownership.
